Brushing your teeth is key to keeping your mouth clean. But, did you know you can brush your teeth too much?

Yes, brushing too much is real and it's known as toothbrush abrasion. This happens if you brush too often or too hard.

Brushing too hard or too often can damage tooth enamel, causing sensitivity and pain, and it can also make your gums pull back, exposing the root area. It’s best to brush two to three times per day, for two minutes each time, using a soft-bristle brush to make gentle, circular movements.

You should always wait 30 minutes after eating before brushing your teeth, as brushing right after an acidic meal can weaken and harm the tooth’s enamel.
